Fruitful harvest for Cherry Credits at GCA 2007
Over 3000 New Signups for Micropayments Service At Event; Cherry Credits Launches Proprietary NEXT Micropayments Engine
Cherry Credits at GCA 2007 ended on a high note with Cherry Exchange - a micropayments service based on the proprietary NEXT micropayments engine - seeing some 3000 new account signups during the 4 day event. Cherry Credits also launched its patent-pending New Economy eXchange Technology (NEXT) platform - an end-to-end micropayments solution that helps content providers extend their services to the traditionally hard-to-reach youth market.
Playing host to media and over 200 business visitors at the event, Cherry Credits CEO Mr Addison Kang showcased how the NEXT platform provided content providers with unparalleled flexibilities in the distribution of their for-fee content and payment collection; as well as the unique value-added tools and perks it brought to consumers.
Keynote on Micropayments for Games
Cherry Credits CEO Mr Addison Kang also spoke at the GCA 2007 keynote on "Micropayments for Games." Mr Kang stressed the need for connecting new youth audiences with the plethora of online content and how micropayments technology played an important role in attracting this new important customer segment, and in legitimizing online intellectual property.
In his keynote, Mr Kang further commented on the leadership roles technology companies could play in bridging the 'perception-divide' amongst the youth market in pay-for-content, and how micropayments was that critical disruptive technology that could enable this: "Technology is often said to be the catalyst for the shift of power from traditional credit payment and content providers to consumer. For the next-generation of online consumers, micropayment technology will be the strategic resource needed not only for them to access legal content, but for content providers to rise above today's prevalence of intellectual property breaches."
The keynote was well received, stretching 75 mins which included a Q&A session and in-depth discussions with interested investors.
