Tactics Anthem Online is a strategy online card game developed in Singapore by Nexgen Studios in collaboration with Camelot Hobbies. TAO will be showcased at Cherry Professional Championship at GCA 2009. All participants for Cherry Professional Championship are eligible to take part in TAO Challenge and stand a chance to compete in the finals on stage.

1.
  General
Game Rules:

1.1 TAO Challenge:
TAO Challenge is a Winner-takes-all tournament.
Each player will challenge other CPC participants at their own leisure time.


2 Top players will compete with each other in a Finals on stage.  (20th September - Sunday).

Top player for the following days will be eligible for the Finals.
- 17th September 2009 (Player with the most number of wins: Finalist A)
- 20th September 2009 (Player with the most number of wins: Finalist B)


* Finalist A will have to bring his/her laptop back on Sunday for the TAO Challenge Finals.

 

1.2 TAO Challenge PROCEDURES:

Training and introduction will commence on the 17th and 19th of September.
TAO Challenge officially begin on 18th and 20th of September.

 

  • Players who wish to take part in TAO Challenge must approach and inform the Marshal at their base camp.
  • The Player will commence the game play against other opponents in TAO game lobby.
  • At the end of each Match, Winner will be responsible to take a screenshot of the result page. This is for verification purposes.
  • When the game ends,  the winner will signal and inform the Marshal.
  • The Marshal will check the result screen / screenshot and provide the winner with a coupon.
  • Player with the most Wins at the end of day for 18th and 20th September will take part in the TAO Challenge Finals.

 


1.3 GAME PROCEDURES:

  • Finalise Deck (1 min)
  • 2 contestants (1-on-1)
  • Difficulty setting: Semi-pro (same starting deck)
  • Duration/Time: 15 minutes
  • In the event of a tie (same number of cards) - add up the strength of the minion card(s) - the gamer with the greater number wins

    1.4 PLAYERS PARTICIPATION:
  • All participants for Cherry Professional Championship are eligible to take part in TAO Challenge and stand a chance to compete in the finals on stage.
  • TAO is an online card game. Players who wish to take part in this challenge must ensure that their laptops or computers are WiFi enabled to tap onto the provided wireless@sg network.
  • No on-site wireless network dongles will be provided.

    1.5 PLAYDAY AND SCHEDULE:

    Matches not played within the assigned play days and deadlines will not be recognize as a tournament match.


1.6 GENERAL BEHAVIOUR:

Players must always have good manners and respect other players and the Admin/organization staff.

A player will be awarded a loss if the he/she commits the following:

- refuses to follow tournament official rules
- uses insulting language
- makes fun of the opponent players or the Game Marshals
- shows an unsporting behaviour
- tries to scam the Game Marshals

In any of the above cases, if Game Marshals are not present, the game has to be played till the end and the replay/screens be provided to the Organizer for investigation.



1.7 INVESTIGATION REQUESTS
For any complaints and problems may arise, players can request an investigation by the Organizer.
Investigation requests must always come with adequate and enough proofs. Requests with inadequate or no proofs will not be handled.
The Organizer reserve the rights to take decisions which are unquestionable.

2.
  DISCONNECTIONS

 


2.1 DISCONNECTIONS:

In the event of a disconnection, the Organizer reserve the rights to restart the match, continue the match from last save point or determine match outcome on a case-by-case basis.


The Organisers shall not be held responsible for any unforeseen circumstances arising from network or technical difficulties. All players are requested to settle any disputes and irregularities amicably. If in doubt, players must contact and inform the Organizer or Game Marshals.

3.
  Penalties
Awarded

 

• Player Warning:

 

After a warning is given, the game goes on. If a player accumulates 3 warnings during the tournament, the player will be banned from taking part in TAO Challenge.

 

• Bans: A player banned is no more able to play any of the tournaments games. Dodging the player's suspension by fake/multi-accounting will result in the disqualification of the player.

The Organizer will judge all cases in accordance with the rules and the spirit of fair play. The Organizer reserves the rights to amend the rules at any stage of the tournament.

Organizers’ decisions are final.
